2 days/1 night: “The Erg Chigaga Desert”

We will cross through the High Atlas mountains passing Tizi-n-Tichka (2,260 m), known for its breathtaking views. This pass is dotted with ancient oak woods, walnut groves, traditional Berber villages and picturesque valley pastures complete with free roaming goat and sheep herds. After crossing the High Atlas pass, we move down into the desert landscape of the Lesser Atlas range and reach Tazenakth and Fooum Zguid. We continue on our decent along the old Paris-Dakar Rally track whigh leads to the dried up salt lake of Iriki and the dunes of Erg Chigaga. This amazing series of golden desert dunes stretches for 40 km reaching a maximum height of 300 metres. Our Sahara Feeling camp is nestled within these timeless sand dunes. Here you will bask the sunset from the saddle of a dromedary while they effortlessly move throughout the dunes. The evening will be spent in camp enjoying first class Sahrawi hospitality.Complete with the traditional mint tea ritual, nomadic dinner and topped off with a bonfire under the open sky.

After breakfast, we continue on our journey along the old Paris-Dakar Rally track. Passing once again through the dried up salt lake of Iriki to a truly unique mountain of fossils. Once back in the pavement we journey to Tazenakht. From here we travel back towards Marrakesh arriving in the evening.
